Afghanistan and IT.

I am sorry I haven't written for more than a week. The reason is that I was negotiating my new position in Afghanistan in a PX.
The intention is to work on the IT. Taking care that new software is installed. (Financial, WMS, distribution, purchase and sales). For companies it is very difficult to find the right people to work there. Most people only stay for a year. It is very intensive 13 weeks in Afghanistan and three weeks home.
The conditions are not the same as in the west. You can not leave the compound you are working on for that is much to dangerous.
I accepted the job since you do not have much other choices. In Holland if you are over 55 you will not find a job anymore. I have had some changes but had bad luck for one I screwed up myself and one job was put on hold while I almost had finished the procedure. Two other jobs went wrong since the headhunter gave me the wrong information. So I focused on the experience and request the headhunter had told me and the request was completely different. Further I have had request from headhunters where they told me I was the best candidate for the freelance position but the client chose a younger more expensive person. You really feel that in Holland you are discriminated on your age. The persons that don't choose you will get in the same situation as I am now if he will be older. They dump you for less expensive persons with less knowledge and you can not find a job.
This job is for me the best solution, for I love to work abroad anyway, and I do not have to sit home anymore and can prove myself. I am considering to leave this very narrow minded country for ever. People in Holland are so narrow minded, they do not have the slightest idea what is going on in the world. I am shocked on the discussions on political meetings. The politicians should have to travel around the world at least for five years before they can get this kind of position.
But lets stop this discussion for it can make me very mat what is happening in this country.
As soon I am at my destination I will regular give an update what is going on in Afghanistan .
