Being a self-starter requires very high levels of self-motivation. We have to urge ourselves to complete our tasks and achieve our objectives.
Motivation is that inner drive which makes us want to achieve our objectives. Many of us experience times when our energy and motivation disappear. We sometimes need to use self-motivational tools and techniques to get us back up to speed and put vision, desire and purpose back into our lives.
Many well-known self-starters use motivational tools and techniques on a regular basis. A high level of motivation is the common factor among high achievers.
What motivates you may be very different from what motivates someone else... so be attentive to your own nature and find out what motivates you best - invest in it daily to sustain lasting motivation.
Self-motivation is its own reward. It opens the doors to a world full of opportunities, which helps you to maintain a high level of self-motivation.

Attitude: Your power to embrace the attitude of your choice impacts your life dynamically - these choices about how you respond are the cause of everything you experience. Attitude is a bigger success factor than mental capacity - it determines your success or failure! It's the make or break factor.
Habits: Many of us are stuck in a way of life that has become uninteresting and tiresome. We can become unstuck with perseverance, practice and a change of pace. To be a motivated, successful person, it is essential to develop good habits and to quit bad habits!
Support: Interpersonal activities can help you discover the chemistry for becoming even more motivated. We often hear successful people contribute their success to the people who supported them to stay motivated. Any task becomes much more enjoyable if you ask the right kind of people to be involved. Also, have your environment support you! Create an organised environment for yourself at work and at home that creates energy and efficiency and is conducive to enthusiasm and motivation.
Rewards: Would you be encouraged to enter a competition if there were no prizes? Let yourself enjoy a regular splurge. Your self-motivation will increase enormously if you give yourself a pat on the back for your efforts - it doesn't even have to cost a thing.
