Haven't read my preview of Wakoopa ?
After 2 weeks of use, I just looked at my Wakoopa profile to see what applications I use most and I was impressed with the amount of detail, statistics and precision wakoopa is offering.
I really enjoy being able to track my time, and concluding that I really use my webbrowser the most.
But what do I do the most inside of my webbrowser ? Well Wakoopa allows that amount of detail as well, although not all sites are tracked yet. I was really interested in what websites I visit most, and spend my time on. I know that is MINDZ.com, but am still anxious to know how much time I spent there actually, reading blogs or creating new content.
But no worries, it still is very nice to use. I'm still missing some detailed information in the graph shown below, for example the amount of time spent on each specific application for a certain period of time.
How about the social aspect ?
What I'm missing on the social side, is interaction. Yes I can create teams (you can find
the MINDZ team here), yes I can see what applications they use and for what timespan that is, but it still is lacking in functionality. As a manager of a group, I'd like to see a report every x amount of time for example, being able to split that for users, application usage etc. and just having more detailed overview of application usage. And where RSS is supported for almost every other page on Wakoopa, user groups are missing this.
The statistics they posted on their blog for twitter usage look very attractive and would be an awesome feature to add, to show trending amongst a team (let's say Twitter again, would love to know how much time my team members spent on twittering)
Being able to create a lot of different widgets, in JPG instead of using <embed> tags is a big plus. These can be pasted virtually anywhere and I really like that. See
my MINDZ profile for an example !
Checking out new software
Wakoopa also shows you applications that could be handy for you, based on the applications you already use. I haven't found any really usefull, but I'm still indexing a lot and 2 weeks isn't enough to exactly find what I need.
The future of Wakoopa ?
With mobile use increasing on a daily basis, I hope there will be trackers as well for mobile platforms, with iPhone firmware 3.0 coming up that shouldn't be an issue. Also parental controls seem to be a good way to go, to be able to track your children for example. No I'm not talking "big brother" style, but it could still be handy, monitoring your childrens behaviour online and offline (gaming, web, homework etc.) and stimulating them when they use word for example, would be a very nice tool.
If any news is coming from the Wakoopa front, I'll keep you posted !
