Mind mapping has always been a big deal on my part, I've got a lot of stuff going on in my head and mostly they are somehow related to eachother.
So when I'm looking for a piece of mindmapping soft- or hardware, I'm usually busy with paper, sticky notes and combining that with the power of
Evernote,
Things and my
iPhone.
Now we've got something new, it's called
bubbl.us. A nice handy tool that allows sharing mindmaps with others.
Highs :
- Easy entry using the keyboard
- Easy sharing, but only with other bubbl.us users
- No need for user login for fast and easy mindmapping
- Extremely extensive mindmaps are available
- Easy layout creation, no longer mouse dragging
Lows :
- Flash based, usually not a problem, except when you're on an iPhone...
- No integration into any social networks, for sharing sheets publicly
- When using extremely large mindmaps, I like to add structure and layers for extensible visibility
Conclusion
Bubbl.us is a nice start and easy to use, especially on a personal level. Using it as collaboration tool, it still needs a bit of work, but they're working on a new version that already looks really good. It's a lot faster, has an easier interface and is crisper and more web2.0 than the previous version. Just what social functions do they implement soon ?
