How to rebuild a nation the Internet way

Ben Koot - Friday 09 January 2009 - 22:25 - 43 x read
Former secretary of state Colin Powell helped promote a mass volunteer initiative on behalf of US president-elect Barack Obama Friday, calling on Americans to make long-term commitment to serve their communities.

Obama's transition team will manage the program by relying heavily on the Internet, a tool Obama used with historic success during his presidential campaign.

With the launch of a new website -- usaservice.org -- that works as a hub similar to the popular Craigslist classifieds site, users are able to promote their own community service events, or seek out opportunities for getting involved.

Our Minister of Social afairs has embraced the web as well, and initiated this "brilliant" campaign to get people motivated called Ik kan and borrowd Obamas' "Yes we can" . some how I miss the drive Obama shows... Where's  our Minister on that page riding along on his bike ;-)

THYRAXX - Saturday 10 January 2009 - 11:02This is the basic concept of what it all is about.
Instead of thinking in" I" we need to think in "WE".
All those fancy word like co.funding, co creation, co what ever you want to put behind the word, all says basically the same thing over and over and over again. Let's start helping each other, lets promote what we can do best for others who needs that help
It's not what the nation can do for you but what can we do for the nation so that we all can communicate on the same level and understand each other a little bit better. Help each other there where it's really needed. Forget our selfisch self and start thinking about the world that is in trouble at the moment and it's starts in the USA where they are starting to show the example by the use of Obama's idea to use the internet. Now all follows him in his steps.

Nederland een slaapland 2: Lemmingen

Lemmingen.
