Luuk Esser (22) studeerde in 2008 af aan de School voor Journalistiek in Utrecht, richting dagblad. Momenteel studeert hij Rechtsgeleerdheid aan de Universiteit Utrecht (UU). Hij is hoofdredacteur van Juncto, het onafhankelijke kwartaalblad van het departement Rechtsgeleerdheid van de UU.
Vooral is hij sinds jaar en dag freelance verslaggever voor verschillende lokale kranten en uitgaven voor bedrijven. Hij is bestuurlijk actief als lid van de Buitenlandcommissie van Ad Informandum, de Utrechtse studievereniging voor strafrecht en criminologie. Hij is ook betrokken bij de organisatie van debatgroep Schaffelaarpodium in Barneveld.
