Expertise - Wednesday 15 December 2010 - 13:39 - 29 x read
Nuffic and Capes have launched a new Call for Proposals to stimulate Dutch-Brazilian cooperation at the level of technical undergraduate programmes.

The new Call is another result of the cooperative agreement between Nuffic and CAPES, the Coordination for the Perfection of Higher level personnel, signed in 2008. It is separate from the Nuffic - CAPES Call for Proposals for joint research projects with student exchange at PhD and postdoctoral level.

Objectives of the call
The call for proposals is named BRANETEC, referring to the two countries as well as the technical field. Its objectives are:
  • to stimulate the institutional cooperation between the Netherlands and Brazil in undergraduate higher education and the technical area;
  • to stimulate and foment the exchange of students to obtain an academic experience and/or practical experience in one of the two countries;
  • to enlarge the knowledge of the receiving country and its language.
BRANETEC aims to set up joint projects between Dutch and Brazilian higher education institutions that offer undergraduate courses in technical higher education (including engineering, information technology and informatics).

This in turn should stimulate the exchange of students between the countries and the alignment of curricular structures, including the recognition of study credits obtained at the partner university.

More information
For detailed information about the Call for Proposals, contact information, the application procedure and the application form visit the Nuffic Neso Brazil website.

Please note that BRANETEC has no central funds available in the Netherlands. Funding of the project on the Dutch side is the responsibility of the participating Dutch higher education institution.
