Day 2 Meeting your Everest

We had a beautiful start yesterday. After a barbeque and an introduction game where we had the opportunity to meet one another we where invited to sleep in the former bedrooms of the nons. The day started early and short after breakfast we were soon confronted with the question: what do you want to be good at, what is your performance?
Soon after, we were introduced to Rene Mijnders, a top coach in training rowing teams who won several medals (including gold). Rene told us to “just do it”. Performance is all about answering the question what you want, what your commitment is, what the challenge is and whether how much you want it. But what adds the magic when it comes to top performance? The answer is as simple as it is complex: it is already inside you. It comes forth from a vision, a dream. Without a dream, there is no magic.
Some people go for the top of the Mount Everest without ever reaching it. Did they fail? Did they not met their top performance? Why not just do it? “Failling” is as part of the game as winning. So the question is, what is your Everest? What is your top performance? In the words of Rene, just do it, we go tomorrow.
