We had a nice reaction from Save the Children in Mongolia. Below you can find the email they've send us. It's nice to know what they are doing for the children in Mongolia and gives us even more motivation to reach Mongolia. We still need more donations and sponsors, so feel free to donate us whatever amount you can spare!
The email from Save the Children Mongolia:
We are delighted to hear from you and your two friends, and about your
willingness to spend time with the children after the journey.
Just to give you a brief information on our programme in Mongolia:
Save the Children has been here since 1994, and is now implementing two main
programmes: Education and Child Protection (CP). I belong to the latter.
Among all the initiatives at the CP Programme (which works to benefit
children suffering from or at risk of abuse, violence, exploitation and
neglect), my areas have to do with issues pertaining to children lacking
adequate parental care, which includes street children and children in care
institutions. So I oversee the operation of the Child Center - a drop-in
center for street children that provides day services (basic services -
food, shower, laundry etc, social work services, and training and
development services).
It is at this center that we would like you to spend time with the children,
may be even have a brief fun workshop about how your biodiesel works or some
other topic of your choice. You might actually inspire a child or two into
becoming a scientist, you never know :)
You are welcome to ask me any questions you might like about this. Let us
try and plan well ahead of time. Thank you.
Best regards,
Uyanga
