My life is a real journey into sound. In good and in bad times I can always rely on music no matter where I am or what I do. Music is everywhere. I cannot imagine my life without music and It all started at the moment I could not even speak. Almost every Sunday I was at my grandparents where we listened to for example Uncle Satchmo’s Lullaby from
Louis Armstrong. As a child I also listened to my parents’ music like
The Carpenters and
Neil Diamond. From ‘Sing a song’ to ‘Beautiful noise’. Karen and Neil, what a voices!
Rock Chick
During the first years of my puberty I was madly in love with Francis Rossi from
Status Quo and my bedroom was wallpapered with those ‘long hared guys’. Including posters of
The Eagles, Golden Earring, Queen and
Toto. I was a real rock chick at that time (and I still am) Due to my 16 year old son Lars, a metal head, I also start to like
Metallica and
Iron Maiden. If Lars plays ‘Nothing else matters’ to me on his guitar you can carry me away…;-)
Discofreak
The movies ‘
Saturday Night Fever’ and ‘
Fame’ made me realize that there was also another stream in music called ‘Disco’ and from that moment on I became a real discofreak. Every weekend, sometimes from Friday to Sunday, you could find me in a discotheque. I even followed a DJ course at that time, but never became a DJ in a club. I have added this on my wishlist, so who knows someday. According to
the Trammps is the Disco the place where the happy people go!
Artists like
Alexander O'Neal, Earth Wind and Fire, Kool and the Gang, Donna Summer, Chaka Kahn, Diana Ross, Change, T
he SOS Band,
The Commodores and also
Luther Vandross &
Michael Jackson, may their souls rest in peace, were at the top of my playlist that time. I forgot to mention
Chic with my great ‘yowsah, yowsah, yowsah’ friend
Nile Rodgers who has a very special place in my heart. Nile is still very active as a producer and
blogwriter. Since today Nile is also a bookpublisher and with the title ’Le Freak an Upside Down Story of Family, Disco and Destiny, he tells the story of his life.
The Present
It is not only the music from the 80’s and 90´s that inspire me but I also like today’s music.
Coldplay,
Nickelback,
Adele, James Morrison, Bruno Mars & Rihanna, to name a few, are my favorites at the moment. Couple of weeks ago I heard a song from
Amatorski called Soldier that triggered me

Music was my first love
And it will be my last
Music of the future
And music of the past
To live without my music
Would be impossible to do
In this world of troubles
My music pulls me through
